Why Isn’t There A Kurdistan? #kurdistan #shorts

Why Isn’t There A Kurdistan? Kurdistan is not an internationally recognized state, and the Kurds are the largest ethnic group in the world (approximately 40 million), without a homeland of their own. After World War I, the Kurds came close to winning and keeping their own nation, but the Allies and the League of Nations never created Kurdistan. The Kurds have been suppressed in Turkey and Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, and there is vehement opposition to a Kurdish state. There is infighting among Kurds, and despite some prominent Western supporters, there is no viable advocate for Kurdish statehood. Despite these challenges, some argue that Kurdistan could be a viable state, as it has long been a bastion of stability in Iraq. However, there are many factors at play, and the situation remains complex. #kurdistan #kurdish #shorts #britishempire #iran #iraq #turkey #syria #ottomanempire #ww1 #demographics #geography #history
