Subscribe to our channel: School: Ono Ha Ittō Ryū Kenjutsu Event: 43rd All Japan Kobudo Demonstration Date: 02/02/2020 Venue: Tokyo Budōkan, Tokyo Founder: Itō Ittōsai Kagehisa Current representative: Yabuki Yūji (Sōke 18th generation) -- PRESENTATION: ONO HA ITTŌ RYŪ KENJUTSU -- The Ono Ha Ittō-ryū is the oldest of the many Ittō-ryū styles rooting in the Ittosai Kagehisa’s original art and founded by his direct successor, Ono Jiroemon Tadaaki, in the early 16th century. Ono became the instructor of the Shōgun, along with rivaling Yagyū Munenori of the Yagyū Shinkage Ryū. The Ono-ha Ittō-ryū Kenjutsu consists of more than 150 techniques, using both long and short swords. It still is one of the most important of the traditional Kenjutsu styles today, having a great influence upon modern Kendo, Kata, tactics, and aesthetic. --- CREDITS --- Footage by Seido Co., Ltd.
