Recorded c. 1915 on English Columbia matrices 6608 and 6609, and first issued as English Columbia 576 in December, 1915. Issued in the USA as Columbia A-5874.
Albert Williams was the Bandmaster of the Grenadier Guards Band from 1897 to 1921, earning a Doctorate of Music from Oxford University while in service, in 1906. The entire Band travelled to Oxford at their own expense to attend the ceremony, such was their respect for his leadership.
