Jesus Christ Appears in the Ancient Americas | 3 Nephi 8–11

Before Jesus Christ appeared to the people of Ancient America, they suffered through extreme disasters – earthquakes, storms and fires claimed countless lives and destroyed entire cities. Three days of darkness began. During the time of vast darkness, widespread suffering caused the surviving people to cry out with intense sorrow – all of which fulfilled the words of the prophets, foretelling the crucifixion of Christ. Ultimately, the suffering of these ancient people came to a close. They heard the voice of Christ speak to them. The voice of God the Father was heard introducing Jesus as His Beloved Son. The people saw the resurrected Savior come down to earth and minister to them. 3 Nephi 9: 13 –18 13 O all ye that are spared because ye were more righteous than they, will ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you?14 Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto Behold, I am Jesus Christ the Son of God. I created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are. I was with the Father from the beginning.
