One of the differences between Russia and Canada for me is that nobody is using the staircases. There are pros and cons in that;) In Russia you can find staircases, where people are growing plants, socializing, playing music and even painting beautiful pictures on walls. It’s a social place. On the other hand, there are staircases dirty as hell, where people are smoking, drinking, taking drugs and even using them as washrooms. Staircase of my building is definitely a “Canadian“ one.
