KV-2 vs TIGER | 152mm High Explosive Anti-Concrete Shell vs MG Port Armour Piercing Simulation

The Soviet KV-2 was a heavy assault tank, armed with a massive 152mm howitzer. The simulation presents what would happen if a G-530 anti-concrete shell impacted the Tiger I’s bow MG port. The 40kg high-explosive anti-concrete round featured a filler of TNT, allowing it to penetrate over a metre of concrete. While a very unlikely shot, the ballistic resistance of the MG port is similar to the frontal armour, so its likely that a plug would have been pushed out if impacting the frontal plate. The pressure wave is not accounted for but would likely be lethal to all of the crew. Additionally, each red particle is equivalent to a medium buckshot pellet. Regarding the simulation, the muzzle velocity corresponds with the G-530sh, and the fuse delay has been reduced to save computation time, but triggers when the projectile is already static so wouldn’t affect the results.
