More than 130,000 people evacuated in Japan because of heavy rains
A state of emergency has been declared in Japan’s Ishikawa prefecture due to heavy rains, with 12 rivers in the area having already overflowed their banks.
Many houses have been flooded and several buildings destroyed by landslides, the country’s authorities reported.
This is the strongest flooding in the country since 1976.
