I met and became friends with Father John Licari in 2010 but had long been aware of his musical history in the Northwest Florida area. Before following his family’s legacy into the priesthood he had been the leader of one of the regions most popular rock & roll bands in the 1970s and ’80s, Lyman Slack, a band which took its name from a 1970s Portland, Oregon used car dealer and had opened for acts like Ted Nugent, Lynyrd Skynyrd and REO Speedwagon.
