NOCTURNE - a percussion quartet for 16 light switches (2015). written for by Mátyás Wettl. In 2015 composer Mátyás Wettl (HU, 1987) was nominated for the Gaudeamus Award (Gaudeamus Muziekweek). That year he wrote ‘Nocturne voor Slagwerk Den Haag’, a music piece in which 4 percussionists play 16 light switches / lamps. Percussion ensemble Slagwerk Den Haag (SDH): ’Percussion The Hague’, the Netherlands, features the ‘classic’ percussion repertoire and is also at the forefront of new developments in the sound/percussion/music theatre field. SDH is fascinated by everything concerned with sound, pulse and materials that produce sound.
