Accompanying photographs of the Cathedral of the Archangel, Moscow Kremlin. The Cathedral was built in 1505 and consecrated in 1509. Damaged by fire in 1737, this is the place that all Russian Tzars &prince were buried, prior to Peter the Great with the sole exception of Boris Godunov. Only Tzar peter II was interred here as he died in Moscow. During the 1917 Revolution, the cathedral was damaged during the fighting and during the 1950’s, along with the other surviving churches of the Kremlin, was preserved as a museum.
