Lucero on Bluegrass Underground, “For the Lonely Ones“

Lucero’s first gig in Memphis was for a crowd of six. But for a band with a 20-year string of successes and aural iterations, who carried the alt-country torch back in the 90’s and helped pave the way for “Americana,” Lucero have returned to what inspired them in the first place, touring now behind a streamlined sound honoring their seminal Southern and Rock influences, pushing their legacy into new ground with alacrity. Taped deep within the subterranean amphitheater of The Caverns in Tennessee’s majestic Cumberland Mountains, Bluegrass Underground is a musical adventure series showcasing a broad spectrum of music from the heart of the American experience. Season IX’s featured artists include the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Amanda Shires, Keb’ Mo’, Josh Ritter, Lucero, Brothers Osborne, Gregory Alan Isakov, Steve Earle & the Dukes, Lauren Morrow, Glen Hansard, The Devil Makes Three & Mandy Barnett.
