The Hunger-Lakme-Léo Delibes (excerpt)

I’ve been having incredibly lucid dreams lately featuring the music from the Hunger. Here is Lakme by Léo Delibes the other song in my dreams. I bought the vinyl to the soundtrack as well as the opera simply because I fell in love with “Viens, Mallika, les liens en fleurs“ (The Flower Duet) in Act 1“ which is played by Catherine Deneuve on the piano and the rest of the song comes in during the seduction scene. Below is the French and it’s translation. “Under the thick dome, where the white jasmine Gathers with the rose, On the riverbank in bloom, laughing in the morning, Come, let us go down together. “Gently let us slip from the pleasant rising flow, Let us follow the fleeting current In the shimmering stream, Without any care, Come, let us reach the bank, Where the spring waters slumber And the bird, the bird, she sings.“
