Soprano Simone Kermes sings the aria “Tu me da me dividi“ from Pergolesi’s opera “L’Olimpiade“ (1735). It is Aristea’s aria who laments about the cruelty of her lover: “You rend me from myself, cruel one. You kill me. All the roment I feel comes from you. No, never hope for peace. I hate your deceitful heart; an object of fear is what you shall always be to me“. Libretto by Pietro Metastasio. A track from Simone’s CD “Lava“ - Opera Arias from 18th Century Napoli.
