Frankie Avalon - Venus (1959) 4K

Frankie Avalon performing “Venus“, released originally in 1959. It reached #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, #1 in Belgium, #10 on the US Billboard Hot R&B Sides chart and #16 on the UK Singles Chart. “Venus“ is a song about a man who prays to the Roman goddess of love, beauty, and fertility, Venus, to send him a woman who is essentially her human equivalent. Avalon’s career began when Chancellor Records president Bob Marcucci saw him sitting on a street curb. He became a teen idol and later starred in beach movies with Annette Funicello. Al Martino was offered this song before Avalon, but he turned it down. The song was featured in the 1990 movie Born on the Fourth of July, starring Tom Cruise. It was also used in two episodes of the TV show Dexter in 2009: “Lost Boys“ and “The Getaway.“ Enjoy more of the best 1950s Music Digitally Remastered in 4K: Listen to Frankie Avalon online: Spotify - iTunes - Classic Hits Studio is a specialized digital remastering studio based in New Zealand.
