Fear & Respect (Cancelled PS2 Game)

Before you post “Oh, this is a GTA San Andreas Clone“, bear with me... Fear & Respect was actually a third person sandbox game developed by Midway in 2003-4, starring Snoop Dog and John Singleton (with the story also written by Singleton), BEFORE San Andreas, Midway and Rockstar had no idea they were developing essentially the same premise. Unfortunately the game spent so long in development, San Andreas pipped them to the post and became a massive success, so a combination of the ever stretching development time and fear of accusations of being called a “San Andreas rip off“ forced them to cancel the game. There were rumours of it being ported to the Xbox 360, but they then noticed Saints Row almost finished development and that was essentially the nail in the coffin. There’s obviously “some“ difference between this and San Andreas, such as the game being set in the “then“ present day of 2004, where as SA is set in the early 90’s
