The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office was chasing a black pickup driven by Justin Battenfield. He had dangerously sped through multiple traffic signals and was overtaking other vehicles on the U.S. 71 shoulder. The chase began near Ingersoll Circle and U.S. 71 around 6:36 AM, initiated by a Forest Service Ranger. By 6:53 AM, I was on my way to U.S. 71 via State Highway 45. A minute later, I joined the chase at the intersection of State Highway 45 and U.S. 71, soon taking the lead.
