Live outside Buckingham Palace following announcement of Prince Philip’s death

Ruptly is live from outside Buckingham Palace in London on Friday, April 9, following the announcement of the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and husband of Queen Elizabeth II, at age 99. According to a statement from the palace, “it is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.“ Philip, who retired from public duties in 2017, was admitted to a hospital in London on February 17 and discharged four weeks later, on March 16, after a heart procedure and treatment for an unnamed infection, and taken to Windsor Castle, where he passed away.
