ARIETE - CARAMELLE (Live) | Vevo DSCVR

ARIETE dal vivo con “CARAMELLE” in un’esclusiva performance per Vevo DSCVR. ARIETE uses two words to describe how she wants to come off to listeners and fans: “trasparente e semplice.” For non-Italian speakers, that’s “transparent and simple.” Whether she knows it or not, this is an artistic philosophy echoed by some of pop music’s greatest masterminds. “Simplify, simplify, simplify” goes Max Martin’s famous adage. “It took me 15 years to take 20 minutes to write a song,“ Sia once told Rolling Stone, truly reflecting ARIETE’s own motto. That said, the quick rise of the Rome-born singer-songwriter through the ranks of Italian pop should be no surprise. Her first two EPs, ‘Spazio’ and ’18 anni,’ arrived in 2020 bearing lush soundscapes dotted by hip-hop drums, acoustic guitar strums, and a breathless flow. The 21-year-old has tipped American rap and Australian psych rock outfit Tame Impala as influences. Last year, her debut album ‘SPECCHIO’ earned a million streams in less than 24 hours after release. ‘LA NOTTE,’ released this fall, is the follow-up album from the prolific youngster. ARIETE tells us it was heavily inspired by the acclaimed indie singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens; indeed you can hear the similarities in the album’s ambitious but subtle arrangements, and its drastic energy shifts. ‘LA NOTTE’ means “the night,” an idea that our latest DSCVR artist uses to frame the context of her two performances. “CARAMELLE” takes place at the beginning of an evening with unknown promise; “RUMORE” finds her happily back in a safe place. It’s a common journey we all take, with infinite possibilities in store.
