DIY A SUPER REALISTIC FAUX FIREPLACE/NO TOOLS NEEDED!

Hi everyone, today I’m sharing with you how I’ve made a faux fireplace out of XPS foam boards, hope you’ll like it! Here is what I used for making this: XPS insulation foam boards - I’ve used 3 boards 24 by 48’ with 4/5’ thickness, unfortunately I haven’t find the reasonable priced ones on Amazon, but people in the reviews said it is much cheaper to buy these at a local hardware store. Here is the link for them just to give you idea what to look for, this is an insulation material. I“ve promised to provide a cutting plan, but it seems these sheets have different sizes in other contries, especially taking into account we have metric system, so I’ll just leave you the plan with dimensions of all the parts, so that you could use them for your own cutting plan. XPS sheets on Amazon: a crown foam molding, mine is 1 ½ by 2 ¾ ’, these are sold in lond pieces, one piece is enough for the project. Here is something similar to what I’ve used: a narrow foam trim for the lower part, mine is 4/5’ wide, adjust it to your foam boards thickness. a wide foam base molding, mine is 2 3/4’ wide, it is to cover the gap between the firbox and the column and go a little further, so that the firebox was a bit covered by this trim, this looks more realistic. Here are all the templates of my fireplace. If you decide to make it out of wood, please don’t forget to adjust it for the material thickness, this one is for 4/5’ thickness. I’ve also included both inches and millimetres system dimensions, please note the millimetres are more precise here, though I’ve tried my best to convert them into inches as precisely as I could)) the firebox: the columns: the upper part: the lower part:
