What’s behind the violence between Eritreans around the world? | DW News
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is calling for Eritreans involved in this weekend’s violent clashes to be deported.
People opposed to the Eritrean government fought with regime supporters in front of the embassy in Tel Aviv. Israeli security forces responded with stun grenades and live ammunition. At least 150 people were injured. Violence also broke out in Zurich and Norway as rival Eritrean factions marked the national independence day. President Isaias Afwerki has ruled Eritrea as a one-party dictatorship since 1991.
