New Year’s 2020: Taiwan’s iconic skyscraper Taipei 101 hosts spectacular fireworks display

Taiwan’s tallest skyscraper, the Taipei 101 tower, rang in the New Year with its annual fireworks display on Wednesday. Thousands of people gathered on the streets near the building which is among the world’s 10 tallest buildings. As per tradition dating from 2004-5, the spectacular display was launched from Taipei’s iconic 509-metre-tall.
