Professor Hur it’s a pleasure. 1) Professor Song, before we touch upon the potential economic repercussions of the fresh fighting in the Middle East, do tell us a bit about the current state of the GLOBAL economy and the outlook for next year. 2) And Professor Hur, how is the Korean economy faring this year, and what are the prospects for the year ahead? 3) Professor Song, perhaps, the greatest concern with regard to the armed conflict between Israel and Hamas is its potential impact on oil prices. Do you share this concern? 4) Professor Hur, what countermeasures has the government here shared in response to concerns over global oil prices, and are they sufficient, in your view? 5) Professor Song, I understand Korea has eight items that are over 90% reliant on Israeli imports including bromine. What more you can tell us about the danger of such dependence, and what are your thoughts on prospects of import market diversification? 6) Professor Hur, is there a way for Korea to better prepare for the possibility of prolonged violence in the Middle East? 7) And Professor Song, what do you propose for Korea as it seeks to bolster its economy against rampant external risk factors? 8) Professor Hur, even prior to the fresh fighting in the Middle East, there was much concern about the economic implications of the lingering effects of the pandemic, Russia’s warfare in Ukraine and China’s slow rebound especially amid its property market woes. Out of these three threats, which is most risky for Korea? 9) Professor Song, some say geopolitical risk factors are likely to push forward deglobalization.
