Pageant Through Streets (1919)

Pageant through streets. Location of events unknown. 1919? During or soon after World War One; combination military parade/historical costume pageant. Crowd; w/ many children in front rows; on either side of gates; waiting for parade to start. Gates open; 4 Beefeaters walk out; followed by a few other people in costumes. CU glimpse of a pirate passing. Small naval band starts off the parade. Fire engine decorated w/ streamers etc.; w/ children riding along w/ Fire Brigade. People on some floats and on foot wear costumes from earlier centuries. Others are present-day military (post World War One). Many seamen; young cadets (Navy; Army & Royal Marines). Girl riding in a big anchor on 1 float; several w/ models of warships. Float depicts nurses at field hospital.
