In the process of star formation, a celestial body collapses in on itself in order to form - a coming into being that is as vast and astonishing as it is incomprehensible. The ability to comprehend the vastness of the cosmos is limited by the confines of the human form. The unknowable, this void of communion, leaves a space of desire. An emptiness yearning to be filled. In COLLAPSE | BODY | FORM we enter the inner world of a pole dancer who fills this void by harnessing corporeal constraints. Filmmaker Blaze Gonzalez, in collaboration with performer Eb, wields dance and movement to establish a conduit between heaven and earth, the sacred and the profane.
