On April 11, forecasters recorded up to 30 centimeters of fresh snow in the provinces of Yozgat and Kayseri. In some areas the snow cover reached 40 centimeters. The capital of the state, Ankara, was covered with snow. The sudden frost and snow reportedly caused severe damage to agriculture.
