Sonic Encore is a project that seeks to include the encore mode from Sonic Mania plus to Sonic 1 with some tweaks and changes to the level design to further differentiate the game from being just a Recolor The project has been around a year in development and almost a year (if I recall correctly) since the first SHC 2023 demo.
