Full title reads: “H.E. The Viceroy of India, Lord Irwin pays state visit to Lahore, the Capital of the Punjab“. Lahore, Pakistan (formerly India). L/S of troop of soldiers on horseback riding past camera. All wear Sikh turbans and are of Asian origin. L/S of more soldiers on horseback escorting a horse drawn carriage containing the Viceroy, Baron Irwin and several other Caucasian gentlemen in white safari hats. The carriage passes under an arch with the word - ’welcome’- on. The troops on horseback follow the carriage. Various shots of carriage and troop of soldiers. L/S of Irwin helping his wife, Lady Irwin, out of the carriage. M/S of Irwin shaking hands with a British Army officer. M/S of Irwin and British officers inspecting a troop of soldiers in turbans. Various shots of Irwin, his wife and officers marching slowly up red carpet leading to temple / palace, guards stand to attention on either side of carpet.
