As we were on Snarby beach, Norway to photograph an otherwise amazing display of aurora borealis above our heads, something strange was glowing in the wake of our steps in the ice that had formed on the shore. We surely did not expect to find it in the ice, as it usually shows up in either sandy areas, but also under warmer conditions.
