These are the traditional Aiki Jo suburi, numbers 1 - 5, each one done as a kata. The basic tenet is to keep each suburi intact - in its’ traditional form - and then do a transitional movement that brings me to the rear direction. I then perform the same suburi in that direction, and transition back to the frontal direction again. These “suburi kata“ are of my own device, but each suburi is performed in their traditional form, to the best of my abilities.
