Making Acorn Flour in the Ultimate Primitive Kitchen
The acorn is probably the most valuable survival food in this region, however it is not safe to eat in large quantities unless it has been processed properly. In this video I show my primitive technique to get the most nutrition out of your acorns using stone age kitchen tools that I crafted myself. Most acorns naturally contain high levels of tannic acid which are not bad in small quantities but larger quantities can work as anti-nutrients in the digestive system and actually inhibit the absorption of essential nutrients. Running cold water through the acorn flour is the best way to preserve the nutrients, including the fats, and produce a good acorn flour that can be used in cooking meals.
