This park is an ancient castle located in Hirosaki, southwest Aomori Prefecture on the northern tip of the main island of Honshu in Japan. Park is a home to 2600 trees with over 50 different types of cherry including Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms. At night, the trees in full bloom are illuminated. The history of the cherry trees in Hirosaki Park can be traced back to 1715, when samurai of the Tsugaru clan planted 25 cherry trees on the grounds of Hirosaki Castle.
