“Nokopo“ (pronounced NOH-koh-poh), an eight-month-old female Matschie’s tree kangaroo joey, is starting to explore her world with her mother at the Saint Louis Zoo’s Emerson Children’s Zoo. Nokopo was born the size of a lima bean in July, 2010. She immediately moved into her mother’s pouch to be nurtured and developed. She is named after a village in Papua New Guinea.
