US Airman Sets Himself on Fire in Protest Outside Washington’s Israeli Embassy

An active US Air Force serviceman was critically injured after setting himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in #Washington D.C. The unnamed US Air Force officer live streamed their approach to the embassy declaring that “I will no longer be complicit in genocide.” The man was rushed to hospital with critical life-threatening injuries after dousing himself in lighter fluid in front of the gates of the embassy, and setting himself alight. The graphic video shows that he screams “Free Palestine” until the flames engulf his body and he falls to the floor. An Air Force spokesperson confirmed that the man is an ‘active duty airman’ but declined to give any further details. Officials have so far not identified the man in question. However, in the live-streamed video, the man identified himself as “Aaron Bushnell.” A spokesperson for the #Israeli embassy said that no staff were injured and the man was ‘unknown’ to them.
