Foot Therapy | PBT exercise with a lacrosse massage ball by Marie Walton-Mahon.

Fascia or connective tissue covers every group of muscles, nerves, bones and ligaments. Fascia is made up of collagen fibres which flow when warm. This excellent exercise warms up the entire foot and increases the pliability of the foot ready for class. You apply pressure with your hand to maximise the release. Using a handball, massage ball, lacrosse ball, pinky ball, Franklin ball – the name varies in every country! 1) Each toe makes a demi-pointe as you massage each toe for 30 seconds. 2) Roll the ball sideways as you make a demi-pointe with the toes spread. 3) Kneel and roll the foot forward and backwards through the centre of the foot. 4) Roll the ball around the other edge of the foot and moving slowly up into the Achilles tendon.
