Hamilton Bohannon was from origin an American percussionist. He played with Jimi Hendrix and went on tour with 13 year old Stevie Wonder. In 1967 he stated working for Motown as arranger. When Motown left Detroit Hamilton stayed and recorded 6 albums in only 3 years. His biggest hits were “South Africa Man”, “Foot Stompin Music” and “Disco Stomp” which reached to no 6 in the UK and no 3 in The Netherlands. Begin eighities he scored another hit with ’Let’s Start To Dance II“. In 2017, Peachtree Street in Newnan was renamed Bohannon Drive by the city council in his honor.
