Live from Edinburgh after Queen Elizabeth II coffin rests at Holyroodhouse. Edinburgh City Council leader Cammy Day told BBC Radio Scotland’s Good Morning Scotland programme that the city was expecting large crowds on Monday.
“We’re expecting tens of thousands of people to be up and down the High Street as Her Majesty comes up to St Giles’ and then onwards from there tomorrow,“ he said.
Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral will take place at 11am on Monday, September 19, Buckingham Palace has announced. It will be a public bank holiday.
Details of the late Queen’s final journey from Balmoral to Windsor, and when members of the public can pay their respects, have been released by The Earl Marshal, Duke of Norfolk, who is coordinating the arrangements for the funeral.
