Thomas Anders was born in Koblenz, Germany and released his first recording in 1980 at the age of 17. He released 9 singles in Germany, none of which charted. Joining forces with producer Dieter Bohlen the two formed Modern Talking and had a worldwide hit with “You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul” in 1984. Other hits followed until the duo parted ways for the first time in 1987. “Was Macht Das Schon” was a German language cover of F.R. David’s “Pick Up The Phone”.
