The client came with a first rough script, then we polished it together over the coming weeks. “Combining humor with facts is something that is always difficult. Creating the script took us a lot of effort and time, and is, in fact, a script that you can be eternally improving – I mean you have all life evolution as material to work with. So you need to be really careful of what it is you really need to add to it, and believe in this case. “I choose to make it live, so we did all the animation in digital, and then printed everything (about 4,200 sheets), then we divided it into sequences and reshot. Then, at three o’clock in the morning, I found out I made a mistake in the framing, so Bárbara (our producer) had to reprint 250 frames again and reshoot. “We found it very difficult to find beautiful hands. Afterwards looking into the animation test that I did myself I figured my hands weren’t that bad, so we present them as candidates in the casting (I had to get manicures every two days), so I got close with my Cinderella hands. In the end I got addicted to it and now I’m very aware of my hands. I think I will need to go again soon. Anyway, it was the best solution because I could be the puppet and at the same time direct which allows us to be more precise and use time wisely.“ Schedule? “Tight!
