Man Ray’s “Le Retour a la Raison“ (The Return To Reason) (1923) - With New Music by Nicholas Escobar

Man Ray’s iconic short film “Le Retour a la Raison“ is a kaleidoscope of chaotic images, edited together to form a beautiful visual dance. To reflect the automatic nature of the film itself, I composed an original score in an hour and 45 minutes. Almost the entirety of this score is improvised. It is a blending of live acoustic instruments (mandolin, harmonica, auto harp, melody harp, tin whistle, guitar), synthesizers and ambient soundscapes.
