“Tuesday, 5 September The 10th stage of the Tour of Spain is an individual time trial around Valladolid. The route offers a 600-metre climb with a 6.5% gradient at the start, after which riders are called upon to put in a big gear. Valladolid is surrounded by vineyards. The big question, however, is who will receive the champagne at the end of the time trial. The stage starts at the foot of the Puente Mayor, a bridge over the river Pisuerga, and then leads through several districts and suburbs of Valladolid. First, the riders set course for the Estadio José Zorrilla, the home stadium of the La Liga football club Real Valladolid. Afterwards, they return to Pisuerga via the Parquesol district, and a little later the route turns right to reach the suburb of Pinar de Antequera.
