DROPS Knitting Tutorial: How to knit a smock pattern: wind the yarn twice around sts

Here is a technique where we wind the working yarn around 6 stitches to create a nice texture while just working in rib (K2, P2). We cast on 22 sts, wind 6 sts tog on every 6th row. To create the texture we alternate the 6 sts wound tog for each repeat. In this DROPS video starts on row 16 from WS before the first wind (P2, K2 across ending with P2). Row 17 (RS): * place 6 sts on a cable needle, wind the yarn twice around these 6 sts - tighten, work the 6 sts from cable needle as before (rib), P2 *. Repeat
