Early Arrival THIRD ALARM Commercial Structure Fire Lakewood New Jersey 1/8/24

Ocean County - Lakewood - New Jersey - Third Alarm Commercial Structure Fire - 133 Ocean Ave. Around 4:08 PM Lakewood Police received a phone call for a working structure fire at 133 Ocean Ave, called in by an off-duty LPD Officer. The BOX was quickly upgraded to a WSF due to the amount of calls and the off-duty officer confirming a working fire. First due L-5 & E-5 sized it up as a working structure fire in the old wood yard off Ocean Ave. C-1 quickly arrived on the scene and took command. E-5 started to stretch a 2.5 to get water on the fire, intense fire conditions and smoke were showing from the large vacant building. C-1 quickly upgraded it to the second alarm at this point to bring in mutual aid for the township. C-1 called for defensive fire ops due to the fire load inside the building. E-5 charged the 2.5 and got water on the fire in minutes while heavy fire and smoke conditions were still showing. C-1 requested two more ladder trucks to the scene Howell 19-3-90 & Lakewood Tower 1.
