... I’m aware that today these marvelous pieces are sometimes surrounded with a somewhat negative perspective. But that is not the fault of Clementi... who in his time was one of the pillars of piano playing and music in general. And not without reason. Only in this set of 6 relatively short sonatas (he wrote two more bundles like this), he put his stamp strongly on the output he delivered: perfect control of form, technique and composition.
