England under siege: Storm Henk rages across parts of the UK

Hundreds of flood warnings were put in place across the UK on Wednesday after strong winds and rain hit much of the country, damaging transport and knocking out power. Storm Henk strongest gusts were recorded Tuesday afternoon on the Isle of Wight, off the south coast of England, where wind speeds reached 94 miles (151 kilometers) per hour. On Wednesday morning the Environment Agency said it had issued 294 flood warnings - where flooding is expected - and 341 flood warnings - where flooding is possible - in England. Several residents had to be evacuated from houseboats and caravans on the River Nene near Northampton, 70 miles north of London, as water levels rose.
