Il Maestro e Margherita. Ennio Morricone

Maestro Nikolai Masoudov (Ugo Tognazzi), a talented writer, and his assistant Margherita (Mimsy Farmer), are working on a biblical story of Pontius Pilate (Ljuba Tadic). The Satan - Woland (Alain Cuny), and his lieutenants, are harassing the Maestro by surveillance, by killing his friend, and sending another friend to Gulag prison in Siberia. Victimized by their harassment, the Maestro becomes paranoid, and is locked up in a mental institution. Margherita is trying to save him regardless of the danger. Ennio Morricone has composed an extremely romantic and rarefied orchestral score where the crystal voice of Edda Dell’Orso emerges as a real instrument in the main theme Incontro (Encounter).
