Today, April 15, 2022. we commemorate Nick Kamen who unfortunately died last year and would have celebrated his 60th birthday today. Ivor Neville “Nick“ Kamen (15 April 1962 – 5 May 2021) was an English singer-songwriter, musician and model. He was best known for the singles “Each Time You Break My Heart“ from 1986 and “I Promised Myself“ from 1990, as well as for appearing in a 1985 Levi’s advert. His first appearance was in 1984, when Ray Petri used his photo for the cover of The Face magazine. Pictured is Kamen wearing ski hat, turtleneck sweater and Ray-Ban “Aviator“ sunglasses. The lips had been bleached with zinc and there was a yellow bandage on one eyebrow. Above him in big bold letters was the word HOT - ironically in the middle of a cold London winter. Kamen became known for his appearance in the Levi’s commercial in which he stripped down to white boxers in a laundromat to wash his stonewashed jeans. The commercial won awards in sever
