Bikes and Bloomers: Victorian Women Inventors and Their Extraordinary Cycle Wear | Kat Jungnickel
Dr. Kat Jungnickel is a sociologist working in Science and Technology Studies. Her work Bikes & Bloomers investigated Victorian women’s convertible cycle wear. The research team combined archival research with the making of a range of garments, drawn from 1890s patents in collaboration with contemporary craft practitioners – an artist (Alice Angus), weaver (Dashing Tweeds), filmmaker (Britt Hatzius) and pattern cutter (Nadia Constantinou).
Read more about Kat’s research in her new book Bikes and Bloomers, Victorian Women Inventors and their Extraordinary Cycle Wear.
