The Hunger (1983) – Opening

“A love triangle develops between a beautiful yet dangerous vampire, her cellist companion, and a gerontologist.“ I went into The Hunger with a terribly enthusiastic mindset. I saw this wild opening and thought ’wow, this oughta be one exciting and unforgiving movie about sexy vampires. A great underground experience full of murder, mystery, blood, obscure rock’n’roll songs and David Bowie’s gonna be in the mix of it with his cool Lennon shades. Just listen to that dangerous sounding bass!’ No, it just ended up depressing me with the harsh reality of immortality. I’m sure the rest of it is great though. Artfully misleading old thing. Song is Bela Lugosi’s Dead by Bauhaus
