Lecture by Simon White from Max-Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Garching, Munich

11/18/2013 2013-2014 Series of Lectures on Astrophysics and Cosmology: science of the cosmos, science in the cosmos Lecture: “The Origin of the Galaxies“ Synopsis Satellite images show our Universe before any stars or galaxies had formed, and allow us to measure its geometry and composition, as well as to infer how all structure was created. Supercomputers demonstrate how this near-uniform primordial soup evolved into the structured cosmos we see around us.
