In 2020 it seemed that the winds of change had finally arrived, and the people of Belarus put their hopes in democracy. Sadly, Lukashenko had other plans, and despite massive demonstrations against a rigged election, the dictator stayed. But in his efforts to scare and intimidate, Lukashenko set into motion a series of events that would see the rise of an unlikely political underdog. Meet Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
